OK well I'm Trying to figure out how to have a film strip down the side with the clip in it. I've read stuff about it before but none help. Also how do I make the footage look like 16mm or any other film.
thanx

best way for the filmstrip thing is to find film sprocket footage and overlay or transfer mode it on top of your footage. as far as making you video look more filmic, you can are asking what everyone wants to do. i think the closest thing right now is a plugin that you have to fiddle with called magic bullet by orphanage. a couple of guys from ILM. pretty cool stuff. it has to do with color tweaking, and frame rate shifting.

Don't forget Cinelook too. It's very good for various noise types, frame jitter, random blurrings etc.
