I would like to use a piece of text as a pattern to fill a larger letter of text. A picture is worth a thousand words - see for an example. I've dummied that up in CD 12 and it's exactly what I'm after except for where the pattern extends past the edges of the R. I'm stuck. I do not know how to "cut off" the pattern outside the R and I don't know how to make a pattern out of the lighter-purple word "RAKE". It's also important that the pattern center across the R such that the yellow RAKE matches up to the pattern and is centered horz and vert to the R.

I would appreciate any help.

I've discovered "Powerclip" and have the pattern inside the larger letter, now I just need to figure out how to get it centered.

thanks.

I've got it. For those who might want to do this...

I grouped all the pattern text and then selected the group.
I chose Effects > Powerclip > Place inside container.
I pointed the arrow at the larger letter R
I then right-clicked the object and toggled "lock contents to powerclip" to allow me to move the object around until the pattern was centered.
I then toggled the lock back on.

I gave you star, since you can't give yourself one. I am sure that info will help someone in a similar circumstance.
