Hi all, i'm compiling a report that is to be exported as a flat file for an AS400 import. The header and trailer parts have to have 1 filler field in each section, 1 977 chars long and 1 is 987 chars long.

I've tried various methods to get round this by breaking it down into smaller formulas and then concatenating these in another formula, and then sticking it in a textbox, but i keep getting the old chestnut length error message. Any ideas? I'm about to receive a copy of CR10 does that get round this issue?

Cheers

CR10 does get around the issue.

You shouldn't concatenate the formulas in another formula, just drop the 254 or less length formulas into text boxes, you won't get the error. Not sure how the export will look, but it won't bomb..
