On a filesystem (mt pt), I am having an issue with the free space.
As you notice, . has unusual number on it. I don't see any other files that can cause space issues other than . (drwxrwxrwx 2 d_gold d_gold )

Why is that? How do you fix this?

drwxrwxrwx 2 d_gold d_gold 184832 May 02 10:28 .
drwxrwx--x 22 d_gold d_gold 512 Jan 24 10:51 ..

thx much

Godd morning,

could you give us an "dk -k" as well as a "du -k" ?
Second command has to be executed after you cd to the directory.

Regards
Thomas

I remember p5wizard talking about this same problem! It was some hidden deleted file or something but i don't remember the solution to be honest!

can you remove that directory and create it again?

Regards,
Khalid

A large empty directory means that the dir once had a zillion files in it (and now has a zillion empty dir slots :-()

Not a lot you can do about it, other than remove and recreate the dir. And if it is the mount point (root dir of a filesystem), you need to remove and re-create the filesystem itself.

HTH,

Sometimes a reboot solves the problem ...

Thx so much for the tips.
I did umount; removed unncessary files; added some more space; and then did mount. It seems to solve the issue for now.
I will see how it goes.
Again, appreciate your tips.
