Hi there,

After setup SPS+SQL in office, now migrated tons of files into portal. Then when in production usage, users found problem which I can't solve.

Say user1 browse SPS & opened a file in browser to read only,
the file is not locked. At the same time, user2 checked out the file, modified it, checked in the file. Then user1 press 'back' button return to doc lib, open the same file, user2's updated cannot be seen. Even pressing F5/refresh still cannot. The only solution is to logout SPS, re-login SPS, then can see the updates.

Wondering if you have similar problem? Any solution for it?

FYI, machines are win98+o2k, or wxp+o2k, same results.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hello,

I noticed a similar problem for some of our users. I took a look at the users Internet Explorer settings and found that it was set to no autmatically check for newer version of pages under Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Temporary Internet Files, Settings. Our problem was solved by making sure it was set to automatically.

But since you said that refreshing the page did not help so I am not sure that this will actually help you. But it sure looks like there is something with the cache. Have the users check their settings and empty their Temporary Internet Files cache and then try the same again and see if it works.

Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thx for the info. For my case all users already with "automatically" in that settings, I've to change it to "every visit to the page" in order to fix it.

Rgds,
Zac
