files are corrupt

My Win 2003 server shows that some files are corrupt.

I.e in a folder there is 10000 files, however Windows explorer only shows 2000 of these. If i for example know the filename of one of the missing files i'm able to open it but Windows Explorer doesn't show it.

The files are located on a HP RAID.

Anyone have any ideas of what to do?

Obvious question: Are you certain, the files aren’t hidden? Did you try setting Show Hidden Files and Folders option?

yes, i'm sure about that.

I also recieve popups all the time about files being corrupt in that specific directory.

First, you should backup that directory if you haven't already done so. Back it up to another drive or tape or removeable media (CD/DVD).
Then, run a chkdsk on the drive to determine if the drive itself is failing, or if there is a problem with the files (did they originate on another machine?).
To do so, click Start -> Run -> type CMD in the run dialog.
At the DOS Prompt type:
chkdsk C: /R (substitute C: for the drive letter if this isn't your C drive).

Most likely this will require a reboot, and a few hours of the server being unavailable to users, so plan for some downtime.
