Is there a way to associate a segment ID with a PID or file? Segment ID 3c16f tells me nothing. My system is using alot of paging space and experiencing poor performance. Below is some output from the filemon command.

hi ,
why not try using top , check %MEM column see high value and the related process or ps aux | head -10

DSMARWAY, is top better than topas?

Shane

Shane

top only shows you info about processes where as topas shows you info about disks, cpu, processes, memory

so it depends on what you want to find out and use the relevant tool

use both tools , another good tool you can use which is shareware is nmon a bit like topas but gives you more monitoring
