Has anybody migrated from PrintSmith to FileMaker? I am wondering if FileMaker is as easy to use and has comparable estimating and job tracking capabilities.

Thanks,
Rachel

Although FileMaker is very powerfull, don't get it wrong here.

You have to compare oranges with oranges, although both are fruit.

PrintSmith is a complete tool to 'do' built-in things, like create quotes for services etc.

You can do the same with FM, if you build the features in a FileMaker application. And that's the hard work.

The features are already in PrintSmith, you enter the data and use the provided tools to get your reports.

When you want the same in a FileMaker driven application (even if it is a runtime or kiosk), you will have to build (program) those features in FileMaker.

Bottom line, if you have the same features built in a FileMaker application, the 'use' of the application will be probably the same as with PrintSmith.
Maybe you can import data from PrintSmith in a FM application to work with the information.

You can have the same estimating and job tracking capabilities in a FileMaker application, but you will have to program it....in FileMaker...
There are already FM applications doing the same jobs as PrintSmith out there (see the FileMaker site for solutions), if it is the same easy use...you have to ask the users...
