Filemaker Pro 6 hangs in Windows XP

I have Filemaker Pro 6 installed on a Windows XP computer. FM hangs while initializing unless Norton Antivirus 8 is disabled. Have reinstalled both FM and NAV, but no change. They worked fine together until about a week ago. Has anyone come across a problem like this and discovered exactly what the conflict is between these apps?

scan for a worm or a virus...infected files will be detected by Norton....it will prevent them from being "read-used-opened" by any application in general. If the files are used by FM....u will get the error.

Also, chek for the TCP/IP and protocols anabled for FM...(they get loaded 1st)....some worms leach of the protocols that might be needed for FM to run.

Update your FileMaker to v 6.04 (or whatever is the newest).

....multiple user-same serial on the one network will cause this as well.....
