hi everyone, i am having a problem with an advert a client has sent me. i go to open it in photoshop so i can edit it, how ever it wont let me as a box comes up saying "could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (ram)" this i do not understand as i have 3 gig of ram and a similar file open for me today with minimal problems. if anyone could please help it would be greatly appreciated. it opens fine in indesign but i need to open first in photoshop so that i can change the color settings to suit the printer.

What programs do you have running at the same time? Do you have other big files open? Have you tried closing then re-opening photoshop with the file?

My best guess though is something on your machine is sucking up all your ram. You could also try going into the photoshop preferences and allocating a higher percentage of ram to be used for photoshop.

If none of that works you may need to try resetting the preferences and if that doesn't work you might consider re-installing the program.

Hope this helps!
