File Upload plus Send to Database

I thought I had seen an entry here, or maybe it was elsewhere on the net, but I believe somebody had come up with a way to upload a file AND send that filename to a database. Is this true? Can anybody spill the beans or point to a site that shows how to do this? Thanks.

Microsoft have a solution on their site. I was wanting to know the same thing (which is how I got here!)
