File types show up as Generic files

I have just upgraded to OSX 10.1 and now my file types show up as generic files to all users runnin OS 9. The files work just fine for me on my OSX 10.1 but not anyone else. The OS 9 users are using dave to connect to a Windows NT server and i'm using the native support in OSX 10. Services for macintosh are installed and running on the NT server but still not luck for the OS 9 users. Anyone else have is problem and if so how was it corrected.
