file types included in sql server database backup

is there a standard set of file types that are included in an sql db backup?

i'm trying to determine what to exclude from my normal file system backups.

*.mdf (database) and *.ldf (transaction log), at least.

When you backup the database all data in the data files for that database will be backed up. Nothing else will be included.
