File Types Allowed As Attachements

in Access 2000 and Mozilla's Thunderbird e-mail client, I use Mapi to automate the creation / sending of e-mail.

I have noticed that if I attach a file with a .jpg extention the sending of the e-mail fails.

What is the cause of this?
Is there a solution?
