Dear all,

Can I transfer files using the usual foxpro COPY FILE command to/from a server accessed through dyndns. As you must be aware, it is a service provided by in which there is Dynamic DNS service which is referred as dyndns and after I register for it, I can access it through RDP like 'mydomainname.dyndns.org'.

At present, the connection is through and I can very well work with files in an interactive mode.

However, is there a way to copy files directly?
Or, can I map a drive using "NET USE" using this url name?
Or, is there a way to get the IP of this connection so that I can use it in NET USE to map?

My requirement is to use this for a data transfer routine among client's office branches.

Please help.
Thanks in advance.

If the machine at the end of the address is offering a share, then yes most M$ based machines would be able to do a NET USE

The most obvious way to get the IP - although it's not required to do a NET USE would be to ping the URL into a text file and read the results from there.
