File Transfer Protocol Task

Has anyone used this?

I need to import data from a 3rd party vendor. It will be an XML file. They told me that we can go out to their FTP site and download it. The file will be encrypted with HTTPS/SSL.

Do you know if I can use the File Transfer Protocol Task in SQL Server 2000 to do this?

Yes, this is exactly what the FTP transfer task is for. You'll then need to decrypt the file on your side by using what ever app they require by shelling out to dos.
