Is there a way to show file thumbnails (the ones that windows would generate in "Thumbnail" view) in an access form?

.... so that no matter what file was selected (.txt, .doc, .xls, whatever) it would show the thumbnail?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm.... evidently, XP doesn't show previews of word documents in preview mode of the file explorer.. just the word icon.

PDF files show previews, however.....

Is there a VB control for file previews?

Update #2:

When I open a word document, go to the summary tab, and click the save preview button, THEN I see the preview/thumbnail in windows explorer.

So... how do I see that preview thumbnail in an Access form?

The quick answer is no.
The longer answer is maybe, if you're willing to put the work in!!
There is a project here which goes through getting a thumbnail. It's VB, so should port to VBA, but your problem will come adding the thumbnail to your form as there are different image controls which VB allows you to paint to, which you can't in VBA.

Sorry I can't be of help.
