I guess this isn't really the best place for this question but I couldn't find a better one. I work for a company that makes embedded systems one of our new products is going to have removeable compact flash. To facilitate portability between our product and others we wish to implement a FAT file system as used under windows and recognised by just about everything. Can anyone recommend some resources on the structure of the file system. I've got access to linux and bsd source but we can't really use that in our commercial product. Ideally i guess i'd just want some lecture notes on file systems and an example of the fat (12/16/32) file system any help would be much appreciated.
