Hi, I am doing my first steps with solaris,
and I have been assigned to change the size of
a file system.

Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks

Hi. To increase or decrease the size? Using what - Veritas, Disk Suite? More info. please.

Thanks, Ken that is the question, how or with what tool can I do it.

I need to decrease one Filesystem and Increase another.

Remember, I have no solaris background.

I am starting to read disk suite, Can I do it wit it?

Disksuite WILL not allow file system size shrinking.
you can grow concated metadevice filesystem (disksuite)

You can backup the filesystem(s) to tape or to another disk
and then resize the original filesystem' size, afterward
restore the data to resized filesystem.

guys do not mix up the size of slices/metadevices/... and the size of the filesystem!

just like Ken says, we need more info, please run
mount
metastat -p # if not installed this may cause an error
vxprint -ht # dito
which FS do you want to change?

Regards
