I wrote a simple report to extract: directory, file name, attribute, size and a few other fields from my local file system. It works without problem with one exception:

Directory and FileName both truncate at 50 characters.

If I look at the filename from within the OS, I can see the long name (80+ Characters) fine. When I pull the data into the report, it is truncated at 50 characters. If I browse the field from the field explorer window, it is truncated there, too.

I looked in options, but can't see any setting that might effect this behavior.

Running CR V7
in a Win 98 environment

I do have a friend that can not replicate this behavior, but he is running CR v8 in an NT4.0 environment...also he is not sure what options (settings) may have been set as default in his version.

Any and all help with this is welcomed, I am running against some deadlines!.

Thanks in Advance,
