Hi,

There is a file system /web/jnm . Currently it is like

total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 96 Jul 12 2003 lost+found

There is a user called jnm. We can su as root and su as jnm

How can I let jnm add files or directories in this filesystem.

Currently there are no permissions.

Is there an alternative?

Thanks in advance

You may consider this:
chown jnm /web/jnm

Hope This Helps, PH.

Check the owner/perms on the directory

ls -ld /web/jnm

as PHV posted the owner should be jnm
and the owner should have rwx on the directory

chown jnm /web/jnm
chmod 755 /web/jnm
