file system full

Hello Guys,

I am getting error message /export/home file system full.But
when I checked the file system.There was more than 500MB space free and occupied the 98% of file system space.what coould be the reason?

Hi,

Irrespective of the message that you are getting you should not run with a partition 98% full. Try getting the partition below the 90% mark and see if the issue goes away. This would nor suprise me as systems tend to chug a bit when they are that full!

98 % is too close for comfort.
Even though you have 500 Mgs free, a process may fill it then boobs when it runs out of space and then frees it.
Do some clean up or increase the size. Too bad I.T. is not cash business

Hi there,

Maybe you are going in as root ?
Root has some extra space on each system varying from 1-10 %.
