File size

I have a Visio files I use as a template. When I copy and paste photo's and save the file, The file size is 11meg but the photo and template is only about 1meg.
Does anyone know why it does this and how to reduce to file size.

I have encountered this problem. I think it's something to do with the picture becoming embedded as an OLE object, with a link to another application to open it. This tends to happen when you paste pictures into Visio.
To avoid it, try inserting the image using Insert > Picture ... This inflates the Visio file size by something much closer to what you'd expect.
