I have a 100 frame JPG sequence set at 800x600 resolution. The problem is, the cast size of these frames alone is 180+MB when all are selected and viewed using the property inspector (the actual file size of all the JPGs on disk is only around 10MB). I understand that Director turns all the images into bitmap anyway, but is there a way that I can reduce the file size and memory load of this sequence?
Is there an Xtra I can use?

Director decompresses JPEGs at runtime. The size shown in the Property Inspector is not the JPEG file size but decompressed size in RAM.

You may have problem running 100s of large JPEG sequence though. Turn it to QuickTime movie?
