Hello

Is there a way to see how big the files are that are downloaded automatically when Windows does its updates (after the update has been done)?

ie. perhaps there is a log file on the PC or even a catalog of files & sizes on-line somewhere?

The problem is that my broadband has a data limit capping & its recently got used up 2 weeks earlier than normal - something is not right so I thought it may be Windows updates with huge file sizes.

Thanks

One thing you could do is look in Add or remove Programs and tick the "Show Updates" box at the top of the page. You could then look at the Updates that have arrived within a certain period and get the KB number.

Take the KB number and search for it here (ActiveX install may be loaded by the site so IE will be needed to be run in an Administrator account). If it locates the number it will show you the file size.

Microsoft Update Catalog.

I doubt updates are contributing to your exceeding any limit. What is your size limit (and connection speed) and what other downloads do you do. Who else has access to your machine?
