Are there file size limitations in Solaris 2.6? I was TARing up some directories and received these two messages... Is there a limit? Are there any parameters for tar that I could use to complete this tar file? Thank you.
Steve

Tar has a file size limit of 2 GB, regardless of platform or OS version.

You may be able to use dd (see the man page for dd and largefile). I've never used it myself. Maybe someone else out there has?
