Ok... my mac is freaking out. I need it for my Visual Communication major, and all of the sudden, it stopped working, and popped up an error code on me! Tell me if anybody knows how to fix this... here is how it goes:

"The application "File Sharing Extensions" has unexpectedly quit because of an error code of type 29"

Please, someone help me ASAP with this! I can't format my computer because I have tons of files on it that I can't access! Thanks!

Is the Mac on the network?

If not, boot with extensions off, go to extensions manager and untick the file sharing extension.

You don't need it if you ain't on the network.

If you are on the network, repeat as above. Once you restart, get the extension from the CD, overwrite the old one, set your details correctly.

Either way, rebuild your desktop which cures 90% of all Mac problems.

I have the same problem running 9.2 but i have no CD. I just took the extension out of my extenions folder but I am on a network and need to share with other artists.
I heard if you replace the extension with the newer extensio version 7.6.8 it wont happen again where can i find this extension or how can i replace without a cd

p.s went to apple found nothing

You should be able to find any updates you need on Apples website.

Or you can run the Software Updater in control panels. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.
