File Sharing - AppleShare

Have G-3 under OS 8.6. Have turned FileSharing on. When I go to Chooser and Appleshare, nothing appears in the window where the name of the other computer should be.

It only says "Select a File Server" and the box is blank. Under the blank box it says "Server IP Address". Appletalk is active.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

paart of the history of Appletalk is that for years it ran on the serial ports before Macs had ethernet.

Look in the Appltalk control panel to be sure yours is pointed at the ethernet port, they tend to 'run home to momma' and go back to serial.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
