File/Send/Link by email not working.

after upgrading from IE5.5 to 6 i can no longer get the file/send/link by email to work. It ask me to logon to passport. get this message "This Secure Web Site (at loginnet.passport.com)requires you to log on." when i do it don't help.It just opens my hotmail. before with 5.5 after selecting file/send/link by email it would open hotmail with url in message text. I then would insert addresses and hit send. contacted Microsoft running win me and they told me not support unless i paid for it. i feel this is a problem with ie6 since ie5.5 worked. can someone help. Also can't delete IE6 box grayed out. I don't want to reload my system.
