Hi,
How do I create in a form using code the file selection object (like the Open... Dialog)? Want user to be able to browse to a file of choice and have it return the path of the file to a string. Thanks

THANK YOU for the common dialog code.
Your example made it easy to use!
You should get paid for this code
and are generous to share it.

Thanks,
Christy.

Hi Christy,

Thanks for your kind remarks, it makes it worthwhile doing this.

Keep an eye on my "sight" (I might get around to making it a bit more presentable one of these days), there are a few new apps in the pipeline that might be of use.

Thanks again

Bill

The link to Bill Power's site does not appear to work at present. Can anyone advise?

Hi there File Browsers,

I'm working on a form that contains an image control for showing a light jpeg, and functionality to call the Dialog window to link the jpeg to the record.

I downloaded Bill Power's CommonDialogAccess2000, imported the modules and structured table and form fields the same, and, at first glance, it appeared to work great. When I closed the dbase, reopened it, and started navigating through the records, I get the error msg "Microsoft Access can't open the file ____.jpg".

I have different jpegs stored in different subdirectories, but this error still occurs when all the images are in the same directory as the dbase. Does anyone have any suggestions for maintaining the links?

Thanks,

Arnold
