is there a way that i can change the security on multiple folders so that it only has the administrator listed as full control and then the user of that folder as full control?

All you have to do is select multiple folders, right click and select properties. Under the securites tab, add the approriate users and it should be done.

in this case, that will not work. each folder that i set security for must have a different user listed as full control.

for instance...if the users name is user1. i need the security for that folder to be administrator full control and user1 full control.

say the next folder is user2 folder. i need the security to be admin full control and user2 full control.

anymore ideas?

here is something i just thought of. the permissions for the share are set up the way that i need them to be. is there a way to copy the permissions from the share over to the security?

I don't think so.

Unless someone has created some third party program or maybe a vbscript, I believe you will be stuck setting permissions one folder at a time.

sorry I couldn't be more help
