We are running CE 9 across two servers. I had one report fail last night out of over a hundred due to the error listed above. When I checked the application log, I see that it goes more than ten times a day (8/25/2004 7:25:31 AM Crystal_pageserver Error PageServer 35209 N/A USWISNTWS414 File Repository Server Output is down).
Anyone have any idea what would cause this to happen or how to stop it?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi,
Check your Crystal Configuration Manager to see what the FRS output is set to, and be sure that target is available..Also be sure the startup is set to automatic.
In the Application Event Log there should be an error message BEFORE the ones that show that the output server was down, that might explain why it went down.

I'm assuming it is available and set to automatic because this report was around 4AM and we have reports running constantly from midnight through 7AM and everything else ran fine. Our error log looks like the following:
8/25/2004 7:26:12 AM Crystal_cacheserver Information PageServer 35208 N/A USWISNTWS414 Connection to Page Server failed.
8/25/2004 7:25:31 AM Crystal_pageserver Error PageServer 35209 N/A USWISNTWS414 File Repository Server Output is down.

Seems to be backing up some logs before it goes down.

Hi,
Possibly, if you are backing up the APS's database when the report tries to run, or if the backup process somehow fails to restart the database( if it shuts it down..I'm not a SqlServer person) then CE would not 'know' where the Output server was, so it would seem to be down.

Try not running the backup and see if the reports all run fine.
