File Recovery

Had to rebuild my pc after having major problems, but realised after copying (which I thought was all) my important docs that I had missed some.

Basically looking for some "free" file recovery software. I had seen a few on the web and tried them, but couldn't get all file retrieved as there was a limit on the size?

Any good ways of getting these files back, without paying a fortune for it?
