I just reinstalled WinXP Pro. I backed all my files up to a second hard drive. Now I cannot move my backed up files to my primary drive. Everything is set as Read Only and I am unable to change this even though I am logged on as an administrator. I have set everything I can find to share the files and folders. Help! I know this must be an easy one but it is escaping me.

TIA
Kent

Try to log on as administrator itself - not a user with administrator privileges. If that works then you can move the files - and change the attributes/permissions/ownership.
If the drives are not NTFS and you have a bootdisk/cd from 95/98/ME boot from one of them and copy the files back where you want them - you can also use DOS commands to change attributes although I don't remember exactly which command and switches you use (easy to check on Google)
