Hi all,
I am using office 2007. I also have a NAS unit attached to the network which is linux based.
Whenever I save a file from Excel, Word, or Powerpoint, the file gets restricted permissions on the NAS. They show up as -rwx------.
No other software had this problem. All files show up readable and writable by all.
The strange thing is if I copy the file from the NAS device to my hard drive and then copy it back to the NAS, it now has full read/write permissions.
The same is true when I save attachments from outlook to the NAS via a macro. They are not accessible to all users. I worked around this by writing the file to the NAS, copying this file to a new filename in the same directory and then deleting the original. Voila, I have to copy the file in order to get full read/write permissions?
Any ideas on how to get Office to behave like other software and play nice with the NAS?
Thanks,
T
