Is it possible to restore the permissions on files without restoring the files themselves? We had some corruption on the NTFS partition of our SAN and after a CHKDSK the security descriptors of some files have been changed.

I read in another post about the possibility of choosing to restore the files but selecting 'Skip is file exists' and 'Restore File Security'. I always thought the later would only apply if a file actually was restored.

The other option is to restore everything and use permcopy to reset shares and then propagate that down through the subdirs of these shares

Any ideas? The backups were performed on BE 9.1 SP3
