I have a problem with a user who is not able to access some of his Word doc. on his drive which is located on a Win2000 Server. Some docs won't let him access them saying there is no file permission. I go to the server and I have to reset the file permission on that file so he can access it. There is so many files that it will take a long time to reset all those permissions. Is there a way not to go one by one, but only change the folder's permissions !? I tried giving Full Access permissions on the folder , but it didn't help. I'm messed up.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thank you

Has it always been this way, or did it just start happening? Glen A. Johnson

It just started happening. He is using a WinXP Pro laptop now instead of a NT wks previously. Would it affect file permissions!?

it shouldn't affect. Did you check both Security and sharing permissions on the folder? is that folder Web shared?
CAn you describe the permissions on the folder? A+, MCP, CCNA
