I have a server that ran windows NT 4 on a domain, we stored files on that server and backed them up via Veritas.
The server died and I installed a windows 2000 server in its place, I did not make it a member of the domain. I installed a tape drive on the new server and restored my tape backup from the old NT machine onto the new 2000 machine.
All works well and the users can access their data fine except for one issue, when I use a briefcase to synch the files from the server to the local machine of a user I get the folder structure but none of the files come across within the folders.
No errors appear on either the server or the client machine.
Any idea what is going on ? I can succesfully copy over folders to the users desktop and all the files within will come across fine but if I use a briefcase all I get is the empty folders.
If anybody can offer up some kind of explanation as to why this is happening it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
