I know I can set a footer up for word using office 2000 that will read that file path, but I haven't been able to find a simple way of doing it using Excel. The only way I found was creating a new macro using VB which isn't a feasible solution for the environment I am in. Can anyone help me with an easier solution or is the way I found out the only way to do this? Thanks :)

Click on View/Header footer/Click on the down arrow and look for your file name, if you haven't saved the excel spreadsheet yet, it will be called Book1. Click on Book1 or your filename and then OK. When you name the file it will show in your footer.

If you aren't sure go to file/print preview and make sure it is there. ggebhart@clover.net
I hope I never get too old or arrogant to learn something new!

In response to lgebhart (Instructor)'s reply,

you reply doesn't answer the question, which is how do you include the path for a filename in the Header/Footer?

As far as I know, you either type it in by hand, or include a Workbook/Before Print macro that does it for you.

Glenn.

If you can't use the code below in a macro, how about setting up a template with
&[Path]&[File]
in the footer or header?

With ActiveSheet.PageSetup
.CenterFooter = "&Z&F"
End With

Sorry if I misunderstand the question,

Alan

it seems that there is no easy way to do this other then the one way I found to do it, and it was considered to no be a very good option. Thanks for the help though :)
