Does anyone know why AutoCAD 2002 highlights the last file opened in the file open dialog box? Is there a way to stop it?

thanks

Hi,

I think it's all to do with what Microsoft consider user-convience in their common dialog boxes. It's just there so you can see which file you've just had open if you have to keep referering back and forth between drawings or if you have a laborious job to update an array of drawings. It just tells you the last one you used..

As far as I know, there's no way to stop it. Unless anyone else knows of a way.

The nice thing about WIndows XP or AutoCAD 2004 (not sure which is effecting it) but the dialog box still highlights the last file opened but it doesn't highlight in blue - it's kind of greyed-out. So you can still tell which file was last used but it's not too intrusive and distracting while file searching..

Anyway, enough chatter. Sorry I couldn't actually help you..

Cheers,
