File naming issue

I am using a Frontpage discussion on my site. I notice that when new posts are posted, it is using filenames that are already used. This causes the new post to show up on the same page as an old post and the links to each post go to the same file.

This all started when I moved to a new server.

Not sure but sounds like the filenames may be stored in a log file of some kind. When you Moved servers, the main app was moved but the log has not, resulting in a new log being started. Worth a look round the server to try and ID the log file.
Try doing a contents search for a known file name.
