i need to know the path of a file so i can upload it.
the browse button is not working and they want me to type in the path.

if i have the file on my desktop. what would it be.
c:/desktop/filename.jpeg.
or is that a windows thing. when i click on get info it gives me mounting info.

path is Macintosh HD/user/desktop/whatever.jpeg.

Note that "user" is the name of the user as set on the machine.

Macintosh HD is normal, but if that was changed to something else, use the something else instead of Macintosh hard drive.

To find the path for any file, hit Command F. Type in the file name on the search window. The path will be seen in the bottom of the search results window.

Using OSX 10.3.9 & 10.4.11 on a G4, G5 & Intel Macbook

Or, if you have a file/folder that you want the path of keep a terminal window open and drag the item onto it.
A much easier way and it means you can then copy and paste the text for long path names that are buried many folders deep.
