Does anyone know of software that allows for file migration that would keep all the NTFS permissions and all the shares?

We're trying to move about 140 GB worth of data to an external raid array, and want a seamless, easy way to do it.

Any ideas?

I don't know the utility, but there is a way to do it.
1. NTFS permissions is part of file properties, and it is not on the registry! So you need to restore them from tape, then make sure to chose "restore file permission".
2. for share, you have to export and import registry, the key is :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\LanmanServer\shares

good luck

if the server involved is a member of a domain and you want to do a simple copy procedure to another server which is part of the same domain, you can use the SCOPY.exe command from the NT resource kit. this will copy the files together with the local permissions. pls take note that i mentioned local permissions. there is another utility to copy the shares from one server to another.
