file menus

I don't know the real term for this but I searched google and couldn't find anything. What would I search for to find snippets of creating the file/edit/view things on top of the VB6 program?

Also, does anyone know how to open a file tree so the user can browse and select any file they want after clicking File>Open? I know how to read/write to files now, now I need them to be able to pick which file it is they want.

I think your first bit is a Menu Bar. If you go to google and search for VB Menu Bar you should get somewhere. Also have you had a look at planetsourcecode.com and done a search for File Viewer etc. Lots of examples on that site to download and find out how things work.
