File menu gone

As DougP has pointed out, it would be more helpful if you could be more specific as to what is exactly happening. "Not let me have the file menu" is a little too vague.<br>

However, most of the time, errors like this are due to a corrupt or improperly formatted htt folder. I'm not 100% sure the customization (HTT file) has anything to do with the "File Menu" but what you could <b>try</b> is going to View then choosing "Customize this folder" Then choose the option to remove all customization from this folder. This may (or may not) fix you up

If the policy for Default User was modified to disable the File Menu from explorer, it disables it for everyone, including the administrator. I would run poledit and check default user settings.

You know what else. Does it appear that the whole left side of Explorer is chopped off.<br>
Maybe your screen settings are too wide.<br>
Adjust your monitor to see if it shows up.<br>
You will know if you cannot see a Blue "E" in the FAR upper left that it is too wide.<br>

If you are running IE4.x or higher, then the problem may have to do with the IE Shell. NT uses IE4 and higher as a shell for file browsing. Sometimes certain settings can get muddled in the registry causing strange and inexplicable behavior, like menu's dissappearing, and the like. The best recourse is to uninstall IE, reboot, check it out, and then re-install it... see if this does the trick. I will try to find the registry settings for Windows NT Explorer... there may be a key in there. Keep us updated!<br>
