File Maker Comparison?

I have been keeping the records for a non profit group in Paradox, which works more or less, as importing from Excel every time we get new information from the national office can be tricky.

The national office is switching to File Maker Pro.
At the same time a colleague who owns a hospitality search firm similar to my own has also decided to switch from keeping her files in Outlook to a real data management system. I have sent her my interfaces. File Maker (Filemaker?) has offered her a 3rd party application for search firms, which leaves me little impressed, but never having used it, I wonder if anyone here has background in both programs.

My questions:

*Ease of Query> Data extraction to a report?
*Form interface: Can this be fairly easily built by the user (as can Paradox)? Does it have, for instance, push buttons or check boxes for logical fields? Can multiple pages be placed in a "manilla folder" file cabinet? Can the relative novice make a form?
*Embedded objects: For the search firm being able to embed and then view and open up a resume is crucial. (as opposed to viewing a link.) Is this possible, easy, hard in FileMaker?
*Ease of import and export (especially in a query manner, taking part but not all of the information).

For comparison here is what she would like to have.

Forgetting the breathtaking artistry and somewhat slipshod alignment of the form, the tabs make it easy to "file" various sets of information on candidates in different fields of the industry, while opening on the (in this case blank) resume gives a quick look see of who you are dealing with.
