Hey,

Trying to get my FTP to display my folders correctly on all OSs,and all is well other then OSX. I keep sub folders which I like to keep ontop of everything else in a given directory. Is there anything I can use other then padding with ones ‘1111’ , it just looks silly. All the characters I use seem to display after alpha numeric.

Figured if someone runs an FTP here on a Mac they would know.

Cheers

Can you pad with a space?

* will move things to the top of the hierarchy in list view but, as the previous poster noted, it's easier to pad the title with a space.

Thanks for the info,

Unfortunately a space at the beginning of a directory name, or an asterisk in a directory name are invalid for the OS the FTP is on.

I ended up finding out rounded brackets work, so I have something like.

(][_______ Sub Folder Name
(][_______ Sub Folder 2 Name
file1.bla
file2.bla

works sweet.

I'd like to point out that using special characters like parens and asterisks can cause all sorts of issues with some command line tools. Anything that parses regular expressions and wild cards could have trouble with file names like those.
