File is locked. [-54]

When the quarkxpress program on my PC is already open and I click on a file icon in a folder on my PC, I get the following dialogue box:
File is locked. [-54]
I then have to either drag the file into the quarkxpress window to open it or open it through the file menu.
This never used to be the case.
It must be a setting that needs to be changed so that I can simply click on file icons.
Does any good samaritan out there have any clues?

Are you trying to open documents across the network? note that quark does not play well in network environment...

I am logged in as administrator on a single workstation running windows 2000 professional - no network

are you facing this error in all docs or with one doc only?

I am facing this error in all QX docs. A point I should mention is that when I open other file types, there is no such problem at all.
