I'm running CE9 on a Windows 2000 server. As the C: drive has filled up, I've started having overnight reports fail with the messages "File I/O error" and "Operating system file operation on file...". The Event Viewer shows processes failing due to lack of disk space.

I have moved many CE components to the D: drive, which has beaucoup space:

Location of Cache Files: D:\Data\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\win32_x86\Data\BBOARD2.cacheserver\

Location of Temp Files [pageserver]: D:\Data\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\win32_x86\Data\BBOARD2.pageserver\

Location of Audit Log Files [WCS]: D:\Data\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\win32_x86\logging\

Location of Temporary Image Files [WCS]: D:\Data\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\win32_x86\CRImages\ (set in both CMC and CCM configuration)

Input file repository: D:\Data\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\FileStore\Input\

Output file repository: D:\Data\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\FileStore\Output\

Is there somewhere else I can tweak the configuration to reduce or eliminate the disk usage on drive C: short of reinstalling the software to that drive?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
A couple of things to check:
Be sure the processes that run the various services are running under an account that can read/write/delete/create on the D: locations..

Check the location of the WINDOWS' TEMP directory..Move it to D: as well..

Looks like you've covered most things.

What about the general logging directory (defaults to C:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Logging\)

Both sound like excellent suggestions.

Turkbear: I'll discuss the use of D: for the TEMP/TMP folders with the server admin. Might solve some of his other problems too.

Kingfisher: Where is the logging directory configured? (I'll look too, but I might as well ask.)

I think the only place you can change it is in the registry, I've not used v9 for quite a while, but it should be something like:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Crystal Decisions\9.0\Logging
