I'm using PHP to store text into a file, messages.txt, in the form "$text \n", so each string is stored in it's own row.

What kind of a script could I use to remove the first/uppermost row from the file?

Thanks in advance.

Just read the file into an array (one line per array element)... it does this by default... just look at some of the examples of reading files and you'll catch on ;-) -gerrygerry
